Flash Partners with Norsat International to Improve Performance

HOLMDEL, NJ (November 27, 2000) — Flash Networks, Inc., a global provider of data optimization and acceleration solutions for wireless data applications, announced today a strategic partnership with Norsat International, Inc. (TSE - NII; Nasdaq - NSAT), a leading producer of open standards-based broadband satellite solutions. Norsat will integrate Flash Networks’ NettGain™ technology into their SpectraWorks products, which include satellite broadband terminals and DVB Data Hubs. SpectraWorks DVB Data Hubs are used in satellite and terrestrial IP over DVB communications transport systems around the world, and play an integral role in providing consumer and commercial markets with ubiquitous high-speed Internet connectivity. The broadband terminals provide end-users with two-way, high-speed Internet access via satellite.

Norsat’s broadband solutions will now offer significantly faster speeds and better capacity utilization by incorporating the NettGain 1000 product. NettGain dramatically improves the response time and performance of distributed client/server applications and enables quicker access to corporate databases, rapid e-mail access, secure file transfers and improved web browsing. This combination of technologies will give customers fast and easy access to the data they need and provide them with a true broadband experience over satellite.
